To Activate the Presidential Initiative, “New Beginning for Human Development”, Architectural Engineering Department Organizes a Field Visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat and the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza


   Within the framework of activating student activities and in the light of fulfilling the requirements of the practical project of architectural design for the 4th class, Architectural Engineering Department organized a field visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in New Fustat and the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza to provide the students with the required practical skills to fulfill their project. The visit was conducted as a part of the events of the presidential initiative, “New Beginning for Human Development” and to achieve Egypt’s vision 2030. It was under auspices of Prof. Mohammed Hussein, Acting Tanta University President; with the directives of Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean; Prof. Mustafa Al-Sawwaf, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Prof. Shahira Sharaf Addin, Acting Head of Architectural Engineering Department.
   At the beginning of the day, the students visited the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and listened to a detailed explanation about the significance of the museum's location, its design concept, and its most important elements. They then explored all the exhibits and artifacts in every hall of the museum. They were accompanied by tour guides who significantly enriched the students' knowledge. Afterward, the students and supervisors moved to the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, where they took a free tour of all the museum halls. The supervising professors explained the importance of the museum's location, its design concept, and how the sun aligns with the face of the Ramses statue on October 21st of each year, as the statue is positioned in a very prominent spot in the museum's main hall. The visit concluded with taking commemorative photos.
   The visit was supervised by Prof. Mai Wahba Madkour, Dr. Lubna Abdullah, Dr. Rania Al-Ghamry, Dr. Fatema Al-Ashwah, Dr. Sara Sha’laan, and a group of assistant staff of the department.
