International Symposium Titled, “Innovative Technology for Soil Improvement in Civil Infrastructure Projects in a Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Way” at Faculty of Engineering Tomorrow

Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University announces holding an outstanding symposium titled, “Innovative Technology for Soil Improvement in Civil Infrastructure Projects in a Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Way” on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in the conference hall. It is held under patronage of Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean; and Prof. Yasser Al-Samadouny, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research; under supervision of Prof. Mohammed Saqr, Professor of Structural Engineering at the Faculty.
The symposium will be lectured by Prof. Mohammed Shahin, Professor of Geotechnical Engineering at the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University in Australia and one of the public figures in the area of Geo-technical Engineering at the world level. Prof. Shahin has experience that exceeds 25 years in both academic and industrial sectors and has several prominent contributions to enhancing the environment and Geo-technical transport. He has received several prestigious international awards and has been recognized among the most highly cited researchers worldwide. The faculty invites all interested academic staff, researchers, and students to attend this valuable event, which represents a unique opportunity to learn about the latest scientific advancements in this vital field.
The symposium will address the challenges posed by unstable soils to infrastructure projects and will present an innovative technique that involves bio-geotechnical engineering as an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional methods that rely on chemical materials such as Portland cement.
