Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University, organized an awareness symposium titled, “Dangers of Bullying and Means of Fighting” under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, Tanta University President; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean; and Prof. Mustafa Al-Sawwaff, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. It was addressed by Prof. Mai Wahba Madkour, Professor and Manager of Quality Assurance Unit at Faculty of Engineering; and Dr. Esmat Khorshed, Manager of Human Development Center at Tanta University and Approved Trainer at Ministry of Social Solidarity.
The symposium addressed the definition of bullying and examined the perspectives of the religion on this phenomenon, emphasizing that it constitutes a criminal act punishable by law. It provided a comprehensive explanation of the various forms of bullying and explored the responses of different personality types in their interactions with each other. The concept of cyberbullying was defined, and its numerous harmful effects were outlined, along with strategies for prevention and intervention. Furthermore, the seminar highlighted the efforts undertaken by the Egyptian state to raise awareness about the dangers of bullying and the appropriate methods for addressing it. In conclusion, the symposium underscored the importance of students taking a proactive role in combating this phenomenon and working collectively to eradicate it.
