Computer and Control Engineering Department at Tanta Faculty of Engineering organized its scientific day of the academic year 2024/2025 within the framework of keenness of the faculty on supporting the scientific and student activities according to the directives issued by Prof. Mohammed Hussain, Tanta University President. It was held under auspices and in attendance of Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean; Prof. Mustafa Al-Sawwaff, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Yasser Al-Samadouny, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research; and Prof. Amany Sarhan, Head of the Department; Prof. Al- Sayyed Sallam and Dr. Sondos Hammad, Coordinators of the Scientific Day; as well as many academic staff and assistant staff of the department.
Prof. Ahmed Nasr, affirmed that within the framework of supporting the developmental plan of the state towards sustainable development and digital transformation, Faculty of Engineering works on preparing a graduate capable of understanding the modern computing systems and software. He emphasized the necessity of linking the academic courses and the scientific projects to the computing market and shifting towards reliance on software applications to support all the services provided by various state institutions.
For their part, vice deans of the faculty affirmed the faculty interest in developing the bylaws of the different academic departments to provide outstanding educational services to both under and postgraduate stages to cope with the latest techniques and developments in all aspects of engineering and to make the study at the faculty a unique experience for acquiring knowledge and the skills which meet the requirements of the labor market.
In addition, Dr. Amany Sarhan clarified that the area of computing and programming gains major priority at the labor market, especially in the light of the strategic shifting towards digital transformation, the electronic services and AI, pointing out that the department always develops its courses and updates its tools to cope with the latest developments and to provide its students with the required knowledge and practical training which empower them to compete strongly in the labor market and contribute effectively in the digital development of the state.
Further, Eng. Hagar Metwally Al-Khawaga and Eng. Wael Shhab, Manager of Inno-tech Company were invited to inform students with the job opportunities and the latest updates in the labor market.
Furthermore, Prof. Ramy Hammad, Career Development Specialist at the UCCD, gave a lecture on professional guidance and decision making. At the end of the day, top students of the department were honored.
