Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University received, for the second year, a student delegation from University of Bradford within the frame work of joint cooperation between both universities. The delegation included 55 students from different engineering specialties to spend a four-week training period. The delegation was received by Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean; in attendance of Prof. Abdul Hakim Abdul Khaleq, Former University President; Prof. Emad Etman, Former Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Prof. Amira Ashour, Head of Communication Engineering Department; as well as coordinators of the training program: Dr. Reda Nagaty, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hadidy, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Gendy, and Dr. Mohammed Magdy, in addition to Mr. Mohammed Sa’d, Secretary General of the Faculty. It was under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, Tanta University President.
During his speech, Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean, conveyed the greetings of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, to the guests. He expressed his pride in hosting students from the University of Bradford for the second year in-a-row, praising the distinguished training model presented by the faculty last year, which was highly commended by University of Bradford. He also highlighted the capabilities of the faculty, which include globally distinguished scholars, advanced scientific, laboratory, and research facilities, as well as outstanding academic departments and programs. He pointed out that Faculty of Engineering was the first among the faculties of the university to gain ISO certification in educational organization management and quality management systems.
Prof. Ahmed Nasr also mentioned that the faculty houses 47 research and student laboratories, in addition to an advanced robotics simulation unit and a specialized research center that serves both the university and the community. The faculty also runs several locally and internationally funded research projects and owns two international scientific journals for publishing academic research. He also presented the role of the Career Development Center at the faculty in training students and preparing them for the labor market. He noted that Dr. Ahmed Abu Al-Sa’adat, Manager of Career Development Center, and his team had prepared a training program for the students during their visit to the faculty.
In conclusion, Faculty Dean extended his thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this visit, starting with the University President and Vice Presidents, academic staff, and all faculty personnel for their dedicated efforts. He affirmed that the doors of the faculty will always remain open for communication, encouraging students not to hesitate to reach out to any member of the faculty for assistance.
As for the details of the training program and communication facilitation, Prof. Emad Etman, Former Vice President of the University and General Supervisor of the Training, provided a detailed explanation of the schedule of the visit. He reassured the students that they are in their second home and pointed out that dedicated phone lines were made available to the students during the visit to facilitate and speed up communication between them and the faculty administration. He also answered all students' inquiries and introduced them to the faculty administration and training coordinators to address their needs and interests, wishing them a successful visit and a pleasant stay in Egypt.
