In a celebratory atmosphere filled with pride, Faculty of Engineering organized a recognition ceremony attended by Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean. During the event, a distinguished group of academic staff, assistant staff, and the Director of the University Press were honored in appreciation of their efforts in preparing the submission file that led to the faculty winning first place in the “Best Environmentally Friendly Faculty 2026” competition at the university level.
Faculty Dean explained that this recognition had originally been scheduled immediately after the announcement of the results. However, the faculty chose to postpone it out of respect for the period of mourning following the loss of two distinguished academic and moral figures: the late Prof. Mohammed Kamal Al-Nemr and Prof. Alam Addin Bastawisy. He emphasized that their cherished memory will remain an enduring part of the faculty proud history.
During his remarks, the Dean expressed his sincere appreciation to the entire team, praising the spirit of cooperation and collective effort that played a fundamental role in achieving this accomplishment. He noted that this success reflects the dedication of all members of the faculty and their commitment to enhancing its standing. He also stated that this recognition represents the outcome of sustained efforts to develop a sustainable educational environment and to promote positive environmental practices within the faculty, in line with Egypt’s vision for sustainable development and the role played by the university in serving the community.
At the conclusion of the event, certificates of appreciation were presented to the distinguished team members in recognition of their efforts in preparing the competition file and securing this well-deserved achievement. The event also included a gesture of appreciation, as the Faculty Secretary-General presented a shield of gratitude to Prof. Ahmed Nasr on behalf of the team, in recognition of his continuous support and direct supervision, which had a significant impact on achieving this success.
