As part of the faculty commitment to aligning academic outcomes with national development priorities and community needs, Faculty of Engineering held the graduation project defense sessions for students of the Environmental Architecture Engineering Program today.
The discussions were attended by Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean, and supervised by Prof. Mai Madkour and Prof. Nevin Azmy. The external evaluation committee included Prof. Asmaa El-Shamy from Faculty of Engineering in Shebin Al-Koum and Dr. Islam Gamal, Head of Architectural Engineering Department at Misr Higher Institute of Engineering and Technology. Prof. Engy Al-Darwish, Professor of Architecture Engineering at Faculty of Engineering, Tanta University, served as the internal examiner.
Prof. Ahmed Nasr praised the outstanding standard of the students' work, describing the projects as the result of years of dedicated effort and rigorous academic research. He said the projects represent a valuable contribution to the field of architecture while supporting the goals of sustainable development of Egypt.
He added that these projects placed a strong emphasis on serving the local community and addressing its environmental and urban development needs. Many of the projects focused on urban planning challenges in Gharbia, reflecting alignment with Egypt Vision 2030 and the national strategy to localize traditional crafts and small industries while reinforcing Egyptian cultural identity through architectural design.
The supervising committee noted that the projects were developed in accordance with the highest standards of environmental sustainability. They incorporate innovative environmental solutions aimed at conserving natural resources, addressing the challenges of climate change, and promoting green building principles. The projects also present smart architectural solutions designed to protect the environment and enhance quality of life.
