Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University welcomed a high-level delegation from New Valley University, led by Prof. Ahmed Farouq, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, as part of a visit aimed at strengthening academic cooperation and exchanging expertise while showcasing the achievements of the faculty in sustainability and smart technology.
The delegation was received by Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean, accompanied by Prof. Mustafa Al-Sawwaf, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Yasser Al-Samdouny, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research; Prof. Saleh Shalaby, of Engineering Physics and Mathematics; Prof. Mohammed Ayyoub, Professor of Public Works Engineering; Dr. Mohammed Abu Helal, Deputy Director of Engineering Research and Consultancy Center; and Mr. Mohammed Sa’d, Secretary-General of the Faculty.
During the visit, the delegation toured the faculty facilities, where Prof. Mohammed Ayoub delivered a technical presentation on the greywater treatment plant, explaining its operating mechanisms and highlighting its key role in promoting environmental sustainability.
The delegation also visited the Robotics Unit for Simulation and Intelligent Modeling, which reflects the commitment to integrating advanced digital technologies into education and scientific research.
In addition, Prof. Saleh Shalaby presented an overview of the Energy Storage and Solar Cells Laboratory, highlighting the capabilities of the accredited laboratories and the research and community services they provide.
For his part, Dr. Mohammed Abu Helal, Deputy Director of Engineering Research and Consultancy Center, also outlined the strategic role of the center in delivering specialized engineering consultancy services that support both academic institutions and the wider community.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Vice President of New Valley University expressed his appreciation for the advanced scientific and technological capabilities of Faculty of Engineering, noting that they enable the institution to implement internationally recognized sustainability standards.
Prof. Ahmed Nasr emphasized that the visit reflects the faculty role as a center of scientific and technological excellence. He reaffirmed the commitment of the faculty to strengthening partnerships with national academic institutions in order to advance scientific research and support Egypt's sustainable development goals.
