Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University, chaired the monthly meeting of faculty council, in attendance of vice deans, former university presidents and deans and their deputies, heads of the academic departments, and academic staff.
At the opening of the meeting, Prof. Ahmed Nasr expressed his appreciation to the council members for their outstanding efforts throughout the past academic year, 2025/2026. He particularly praised the pivotal role played by Prof. Mustafa Al-Sawwaf, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, as well as the heads of the examination committees and their teams, who successfully completed the examination process and announced the results with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism within a record time, reflecting the efficiency of the administrative system of the faculty.
In addition, he expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, and Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, for their comprehensive support of the T-Racers team, which achieved an unprecedented historic accomplishment at Formula Student UK 2026, held at the Silverstone Circuit in the United Kingdom. The team secured third place worldwide in the overall Concept Class ranking.
Further, Prof. Ahmed Nasr congratulated the winning students from the Departments of Mechanical Power Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechatronics and Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Engineering. He noted that the achievement was the result of sustained effort, innovative engineering thinking, and promising practical application. It also reflects the success of the institutional strategy of the faculty in supporting applied innovation and engineering entrepreneurship, as well as translating the state’s vision of supporting talented and innovative university students and raising Egypt’s profile in international competitions.
On the front of internal student achievements, the faculty also made a strong showing, with its teams securing first and second places in the qualifying competitions for the Youth Universities Week activities hosted by Minya University, across various scientific and engineering disciplines.
The meeting concluded with a review of a package of strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening the position of the faculty as a leading center of scientific excellence and innovation. The initiatives seek to achieve the highest standards of academic and institutional excellence and further enhance the faculty standing as a leading engineering institution locally and regionally.
