Faculty of Engineering Strengthens Partnership with Industrial Sector Through Field Visit to Benha Electronics Company


   As part of the strategy adopted by Tanta University to strengthen effective partnerships with national industrial institutions and align higher education and scientific research outcomes with sustainable development needs and technology localization efforts, Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University organized an extensive academic field visit to the headquarters of Benha Electronics Company.
   The visit was held in response to an official invitation from the company management, under the direction and patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University; under the leadership of Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; and with close field supervision by Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of Faculty of Engineering.
   Upon arrival, the academic delegation was welcomed by a number of senior executives from Benha Electronics Company, including Major General Eng. Waleed El-Ghobashy, Chairman of the Board; Major General Eng. Mohammed Abdul Azim, Vice Chairman; Eng. Mohammed Ragheb, Head of the Research and Development Sector; and Mr. Mohammed Gaber Al-Shorbagy, Media Officer.
   The faculty delegation included professors and researchers representing various engineering disciplines namely; Prof. Sa’eed Allam, Head of the Electrical Power and Machines Engineering Department; Prof. Hossam Saleh, Coordinator of Energy Engineering Program; Dr. Hany Al-Ghayesh, Department of Computer and Automatic Control Engineering; Dr. Mohammed Mamdouh Sa’d, Department of Electrical Power and Machines Engineering; Dr. Al-Sayyed Al-Sa’eedy, Department of Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering; Dr. E’temad Nahhas, Department of Electrical Power and Machines Engineering; Dr. Mohammed Al-Hadary, Department of Mechanical Power Engineering; Dr. Ali Sa’d, Department of Mechanical Power Engineering; and Dr. Shady Imam, Department of Mechanical Power Engineering.
   The visit included an extensive tour of the company assembly and production lines across its various sectors, providing the academic delegation with an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the advanced technological capabilities and industrial operations of the company.
   The two sides also held an extensive meeting that addressed several key areas of potential cooperation, including practical training and graduation projects. Discussions focused on providing field-based training programs for faculty students and directing graduation projects toward addressing real-world technical challenges faced by the company.
   The talks also covered scientific research and postgraduate studies through the development of joint research projects for master’s and doctoral students aimed at serving the needs of the electronics industry. In addition, the two sides discussed activating cooperation in the Research and Development (R&D) sector to connect academic research with the actual operational needs, while facilitating the exchange of scientific and technical expertise and consultancy to enhance quality and production efficiency.
   The visit underscores continued commitment of the faculty to supporting the national industrial sector and strengthening cooperation between academia and industry. It also lays the foundation for a sustainable institutional partnership capable of producing highly skilled engineers equipped with the ability to innovate and compete regionally and worldwide.
