Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University organized a symposium titled “The Grand Egyptian Museum: Between Dream and Reality”, under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Hatem Amin, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research; and Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and in accordance with the directives of Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean.
The symposium is held in the light of the action plan of Tanta University during its presidency of the Delta Universities Alliance for the academic year 2025/2026, aiming to supporting urban sustainability, enhancing knowledge integration between universities, raising community awareness, and strengthening cultural identity in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
In his speech, Prof. Ahmed Nasr expressed his pride in hosting this distinguished scientific event, affirming that the Faculty of Engineering seeks to be a national platform for exchanging ideas and shaping awareness. He pointed out that the gathering of Delta region universities under one roof demonstrates a clear path towards building an engineering mindset that is aware of history and capable of shaping the future. He also emphasized that the Grand Egyptian Museum is a global model that reflects the strength and depth of Egyptian identity and civilization.
The symposium included a presentation of third-year Architecture students’ projects at Tanta University about the Grand Egyptian Museum as part of the Contemporary Architecture course, receiving high praise for the students’ performance.
The event concluded with the Dean presenting certificates of appreciation to the participating faculty members in recognition of their effective contributions and the support they provided to ensure the success of the symposium and achieve its goals. Distinguished students whose projects were showcased on the sidelines of the symposium were also honored. The event received wide acclaim for its excellent organization, thanks to the efforts of the General Secretariat of the Faculty, the Youth Welfare Department, the working teams, the Student Union, and the student group, “Students for Egypt” at the faculty.
