Faculty of Engineering Launches the First Symposium of the National Reading Project to Cultivate Minds That Shape the Future


   Faculty of Engineering at Tanta University organized today the first introductory symposium for the National Reading Project under the title: “Minds Fed by Books Create Projects that Reshape Outlooks”. The symposium is Considered a part of the university efforts to enhance cultural and intellectual awareness among students and to build a generation capable of keeping pace with modern challenges.
   The symposium was held under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, and Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs. It was supervised by Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean, and Prof. Mustafa Al-Sawwaf, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, in attendance of a distinguished group of academic leaders, project coordinators, and student activity organizers.
   The event was attended by Prof. Magdy Wakwak, General Coordinator of Student Activities at Tanta University, Prof. Mohammed Taha, Coordinator of the National Reading Project at the university level, and Dr. Nermin Abdul Ghafour, Coordinator of the project at the faculty.
   The symposium began with an opening speech delivered by Dr. Nermin Abdul Ghafour, in which she introduced the initiative and welcomed the attendees. This was followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, marking the official start of the event.
   For his part, Prof. Mustafa Al-Sawwaf delivered a speech on behalf of the faculty administration, welcoming the attendees and emphasizing that organizing this symposium reflects Tanta University commitment to promoting a culture of reading among students and enhancing their intellectual awareness. He noted that the reading project contributes to preparing qualified individuals capable of innovation and active participation in building society. 
   In addition, Prof. Magdy Wakwak stressed that reading is the cornerstone of building minds and expanding human understanding. He pointed out that the first revelation of the Qur’an was a command to read, highlighting its importance in building civilizations. He added that reading is a key tool for acquiring knowledge and shaping personality, especially for engineering students, to keep up with rapid global developments and build a future based on science.
   At the conclusion of the symposium, Prof. Mustafa Al-Sawwaf expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the attendees and presented shields of honor, on behalf of faculty Dean to the guests in recognition of their efforts in supporting and ensuring the success of the National Reading Project.
