Tanta University President Attends the 31st Graduation Ceremony of Faculty of Engineering “Prof. Emad Etman Class”


Prof. Mohammed Hussain: “Naming the Class After Prof. Emad Etman Reflects the University’s Loyalty to Its Distinguished Figures and Their Contributions”.
   Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University, attended the graduation ceremony of the 31st class of Faculty of Engineering, named the “Prof. Emad Etman Class” in honor of Prof. Emad Etman, Full Professor of Structural Engineering, Former Acting President of Tanta University, and Former Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.
   The ceremony was attended by Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Dean of Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Abdel Hakim Abdul Khaliq, Former President of Tanta University; Prof. Emad Etman; Prof. Tariq Fawzy El-Shafey, Full Professor of Structural Engineering and Former Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Tariq Al-Mohammady, Professor of Structural Engineering and Member of the House of Representatives; Prof. Mustafa Al-Sawwaf, Vice Dean of Faculty for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Tamer Al-Kourany, Head of the Engineers Syndicate in Gharbia; as well as the faculty vice deans and a number of academic staff.
   In his speech, Prof. Mohammed Hussain expressed his happiness at celebrating with the graduates of Faculty of Engineering and their families after years of hard work and dedication. He emphasized that graduation is not merely the end of the educational stage, but rather the true beginning of a new journey in which graduates move from acquiring knowledge to applying it, and from studying problems to contributing to the development of innovative solutions and shaping the future.
   The University President highlighted the special significance of this ceremony, as the class was named after Prof. Emad Etman, one of the distinguished figures of Faculty of Engineering and Tanta University, in recognition of his distinguished academic and administrative career and his years of knowledge, expertise, and institutional contributions. He noted that this choice reflects one of the core values of Tanta University; honoring its members and recognizing those who have made meaningful contributions and left a lasting impact.
   In a gesture of remembrance and appreciation, the University President also highlighted the careers of two late distinguished scholars of the faculty: Prof. Alam Addin Bastawisy, former Head of the Department of Basic Sciences, and Prof. Mohammed Al-Nemr, Professor of Electrical Power Engineering, Former Head of the Department, and Former Executive Director of the Main Center for Electronic and Knowledge Services. He praised the scientific, human, and institutional legacy they left among their students and colleagues, praying that Allah may grant them His abundant mercy and forgiveness.
   In addition, Prof. Mohammed Hussein addressed the graduates, emphasizing that continuous learning, innovation, and adherence to professional ethics have become essential pivots of success. He called on them to preserve the “engineer’s conscience,” assume their responsibilities toward society and the nation, and provide innovative and sustainable solutions that contribute to the development and future of our dear country. He also congratulated the graduates’ families and expressed his appreciation to the faculty administration, academic staff, and employees.
   For his part, Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz emphasized that the graduation of the 31st class represents a new beginning for the graduates as they embark on their professional careers and pursue achievement. He stressed the importance of continuous learning and keeping pace with rapid developments in technology, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation, noting that engineering is not merely an academic specialization, but a way of thinking, a method for solving problems, and a means of contributing to nation-building.
   Further, Prof. Ahmed Nasr, Faculty Dean, expressed his pride in graduating a new generation of qualified engineers capable of making effective contributions to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and advancing national development. He affirmed that the faculty will remain a home for its graduates and a source of support throughout their professional careers, encouraging them to continue developing their skills in order to keep pace with the rapidly changing labor market.
   The ceremony also included the presentation of honorary shields to Prof. Mohammed Hussain, President of Tanta University; Prof. Al-Sayyed Al-Agouz; Prof. Emad Etman; Prof. Tariq Al-Mohammady; Dr. Tamer Al-Kourany, Head of the Engineers Syndicate in Gharbia; and Emaar Al Delta Company, in recognition of its support for the top-performing graduates and several student activities at the faculty.
   At the conclusion of the event, graduates were recognized and presented with certificates of appreciation, while several outstanding student teams and organizations at the faculty were honored, including the American Concrete Institute (ACI) Student Chapter.
